An experienced Cloud and DevOps consultant is needed by a well-established IT firm based in Edinburgh. The company provides IT services to various clients. The company is scaling and there will be many opportunities for career growth here, they have recently taken on some really cool projects, and you will have a hands-on role in how the company is managed from a technology perspective. The company is currently developing an E-Commerce platform as a product.
The Engineer will be an integral part of a substantial E-Commerce rollout project and will be responsible for
• Developing Terraform Modules, Anisble modules, PoCs and enhancements tailored to specific market needs such as new shopping, enrolment experience.
• Develop integration solutions using Python and Java including API development, data transformation, and application integration.
• Create reusable, efficient, and scalable integration patterns and components.
• Design and implement modules using Terraform, Ansible, Python to create and maintain cloud services.
• Manage API lifecycle, including design, deployment, and versioning.
• Integrate various on-premise and cloud-based systems using APIs, and message queues.
• Develop, publish and Upload CMS content to a range of different platforms including the ongoing development of a new E-commerce shopping experience, following company protocols and processes.
• Remedy and report any operational and technical issues.
• Remain an up-to-date in-house training resource for digital platforms
• May be required to update HTML and CSS to create accurate, complete, discoverable and usable digital content.
• Qualifications and Experience Bachelor s degree in Digital Marketing, IT or a directly relevant subject is preferable but not essential.
• Experience of web content administration and web content management systems.
• One or more years of experience in a similar role surrounding editing, managing and implementing intranets or collaboration software Proficient understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Great eye for detail to ensure all key brand/product messaging and styles remain consistent across all digital platforms.

S & M Systems Ltd is looking for a skilled skilled QA Automation Consultant to join our dynamic team and help us launch a new, high-quality e-commerce website.
Your primary role will be to ensure our website and its applications are robust, reliable, and free of defects before they reach our customers. You will use your expertise in Python and Java to design, build, and execute automated tests that guarantee a seamless user experience. This is a critical role where you will be the guardian of our product’s quality.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks using Python and Java.
• Creating detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases based on project requirements.
• Executing automated tests to find bugs, defects and issues in new features and existing systems.
• Identifying, recording, and tracking defects thoroughly using our bug-tracking system.
• Performing different types of testing, including functional, regression, and API testing.
• Working closely with our software developers to identify the root cause of issues and help resolve them.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our quality assurance processes and standards.
• Providing training and mentorship to team members on testing best practices and automation tools.
Essential Skills and Experience we are looking for:
• Proven work experience in a Quality Assurance or Software Testing role, with a focus on automation.
• Strong proficiency in writing test scripts and using testing frameworks with both Python (e.g., Pytest, Selenium) and Java (e.g., JUnit, Selenium).
• Solid experience with automated testing tools for API testing, backend systems and web applications.
• Experience in testing APIs (e.g., using Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or similar tools).
• An understanding of security testing principles.
• A meticulous eye for detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a technical team.
Desirable Skills (Not essential but a plus):
• Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and integrating automated tests.
• Previous experience testing e-commerce websites or applications.
